Now that it’s February, I wanted to share with you a delicious drink recipe that’s refreshing and perfect for Valentine’s day…honey-lemon whisky fizz! I love honey whisky, and wanted to create a drink that’s light and refreshing. If you are familiar with a Gold Rush, this drink is in the same family.
You will need:
- 2 shots of Honey whisky
- Juice from 2 lemons
- 1 Cup lemon seltzer
To make, shake the lemon juice and whisky together with a handful of ice cubes. Pour over the seltzer. Stir together & add a few pieces of fresh strawberries to the glass. And that’s it!
I hope you guys enjoy this cocktail…I’d love to know if you make it!
What’s your favorite drink for Valentine’s day?
So this weekend I was able to go peach picking with some of my friends, and despite the hot, humid weather, we were able to make some pretty kick-butt margaritas :) My friend Karyn just recently moved into a new house, so we took the photos there. and hung out with her adorable 6-month-old and italian greyhound pups. Thanks for the help with the photos, Anthony & Sam!
PERFECT PEACH MARGARITAS
You will need:
- 5 ripe peaches
- 1 1/3 cup Souza blue
- 2/3 cup peach schnapps
- 3 cup crushed ice
- 1/3 cup sugar
All you need to do is peel & mash up the peaches, add all ingredients to blender and mix to your desired consistency (I like mine to still have good sized chunks of peaches). And bam, perfect peach margaritas :)
I don’t normally share recipes on my blog that I create, but I really do love to cook! My problem is I always get too hungry and forget to photograph whatever I’m making. However, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite snack foods, white bean dip with corn tortillas. My friend gave me this recipe last year and it’s a go-to for entertaining. The corn tortillas can be substituted for flour tortillas, but I am trying to cut as much gluten out of my diet as possible, so I’m going with corn. This is a super-simple recipe, yet is packed with flavor. I dare you not to enjoy it!
Ingredients for dip & tortillas:
- 2 cans of cannellini beans
- 1/3 cup olive oil (DOUBLE CHECK)
- 2 cloves garlic
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- Pinch of salt
- Fresh parsley
- 4 Corn tortillas
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
Directions for dip
- Drain white beans completely
- Chop up garlic into small pieces
- Place beans, olive oil, salt, pepper, and cayenne into blender and mix until slightly coarse in texture
- Transfer dip into bowl
- Add some fresh parsley on top for decoration
Directions for tortilla chips
- Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F
- Cut tortillas into triangle shapes
- Cover a baking sheet in aluminum foil and arrange tortillas in a single layer
- Drizzle with olive oil
- Sprinkle each tortilla chip with salt, pepper and cayenne
- Bake chips for about 5-7 minutes, or until the edges begin to get crispy
Then serve & enjoy! :)
Looking for a party idea? Why not host a ladies’ poker night? Ever since going to Foxwoods for the first time last year, I have really enjoyed gambling and table games. (some of my favorite other snack options include guacamole & gluten-free chocolate cookies. These would also be an ideal snack to serve during the game. Personally, I think this is the perfect snack to make if you’re having a party. It’s light, refreshing, and seems to please most people. A fun break while playing!
Not into poker? No problem! This delicious dip can be served almost anywhere, for whatever kind of party you’re hosting! I do recommend hosting a ladies’ poker night though – think Desperate Housewives ;)
