I’m so excited to share this week’s geeky cocktail! We’re calling it Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’, based on D.Va’s new Cruiser skin & the vibes on Route 66. I’m currently in the process of making Cruiser D.va, but I wore this shirt and wig to get some photos for this post. Once the costume is complete I’ll be making a full costume breakdown on the gun, shirt, and wig.
Cruisin for a Bruisin’ is a spin on the classic Tom Collins cocktail, which was very popular during the 50’s and 60’s. Traditionally it’s made with gin, lemon juice, simple syrup & club soda. To bring it up to date and give it a little D.Va kick, we’re using White Out Mountain Dew in place of the simple syrup & club soda. It’s light and citrus-y… a perfect fit for this drink!
You will need (makes 1):
- 1 shot gin
- 1 Lemon
- 6oz White Out Mt. Dew
- Cherry for garnish
Directions:
- Put your glass in the freezer to frost
- In a shaker add ice, gin, and 1/2 a lemon’s worth of juice. Shake.
- Pour over ice in your cool frosty glass
- Top with mountain dew
- Garnish with a cherry and slice of lemon
- Enjoy!
This drink is part of the the Drunkenwatch series, an ongoing collaboration with Skowalz, AcornBandit, and silenced_knight. Go give them all a follow!
Let me know if you make this drink :)
