Easy DIY Unicorn Fall Flower Crown

Can you guys believe it's finally October?? I feel like I've been waiting forever for cooler weather. This month I have a few craft projects that have been sitting in my brain for a while, and I can't wait to share them all!First up we have a special DIY Unicorn Fall Flower Crown - and it's so easy. You can easily make material substitutions, and can even forego the unicorn horn for a simple flower crown. These are perfect for a fun and fancy magical halloween costume, or just to add some flair to an everyday look!FULL TUTORIAL UNDER THE CUT!YOU WILL NEED

• Worbla or clay
• Heat gun (if worbla)
• Gesso or primer
• Gold & dark gold paint
• Glitter
• Modpodge
• 4-5 stalks of faux flowers
• Hot glue
• Headband

UNICORN HORNI chose to use worbla for the horn, but baking clay or even model magic will work, too. Just keep in mind the weight of using clay.Directions:

• Heat up your worbla scraps until you can roll them into a long cylinder
• Bend the cylinder into a horseshoe shape
• Twist the ends around each other until you get to the top. Carefully shape the tip into a point, and flatten the bottom
• Let dry
• Gesso and/or prime the horn. If you gesso, do at least 4 and sand down the excess
• Paint over with a few coats of acrylic gold
• I “shaded” the creases of the folds with a darker gold mixed with pink. This is optional, but it gives it some depth
• To add glitter, coat the horn in mod podge
• Sprinkle on your glitter, and seal with 2-3 more coats of mod podge
• Let dry
• And you have a beautiful horn!

 FLOWER CROWNFor this particular crown, I chose purples, reds, and oragnes for fall, but you can choose any colors you like! You also don’t need to include the horn if you don’t want to – I made a flower crown for one of my costumes, you can see it here and here!!Directions:

• Snip off the stems of your flowers, leaving about 1/4:” – ½” of stem
• Lay your crown out – place the flowers in the way you think you’ll want them to sit. I like to keep the larger flowers towards the middle and smaller towards the ends. Bulkier & taller in the middle is my personal favorite
• Glue your unicorn horn in the top center
• Begin by adding 2 large flowers to each side
• Continue to fill the headband's surface with flowers, until about 2" from the ends
• Then add a second layer! Glue flowers up the horn, gluing to the under layer and the horn itself
• Fan the flowers out, staying tall in the center and thinning out towards the ends
• Add as many as you'd like!
